University/Medical Center Broadens Paperless Storage and Retrieval with MHC

University Medical Center, a Midwest nonprofit provider of healthcare services and medical education with multiple urban and suburban locations, was struggling with cramped office space, slow Accounts Payable (AP) workflows, and lost or misfiled invoices caused by paper-based storage and frequent retrieval trips between floors. To eliminate file cabinets, speed access, and improve security, the organization turned to MHC Software and deployed Image Express (building on earlier use of MHC’s Document Express for check and form distribution).

MHC Software implemented Image Express to scan and index invoices and HR records so authorized users can retrieve high-quality document images via the financial system or a web browser, with index values populated from source systems. The solution eliminated time-consuming retrievals, reduced data entry and misfiled documents, sped AP processing, and rolled out quickly (the third implementation took just a couple of hours); overall it freed office space, improved productivity, and saw broad adoption across AP and HR with strong support from MHC Software.
