A MEX Case Study
AGL Energy, one of Australia’s largest integrated energy companies, faced the challenge of managing maintenance across a wide portfolio of upstream gas assets, including five liquefied natural gas plants, storage and treatment facilities. To centralize and streamline its maintenance operations, AGL Energy adopted MEX as its sole Computerized Maintenance Management System for upstream gas operations.
MEX was deployed across all five LNG plants and associated gas sites to provide a single repository for asset records, calendar-based reminders, work orders, personnel assignments and mobile access via an iOS app, with an Inventory module planned to feed spares data into SAP. The MEX implementation was quick and low‑cost, freed up valuable time, reduced training overhead, improved accuracy of maintenance records and delivered measurable operational benefits across AGL Energy’s upstream gas operations.
