Case Study: Laboratory of the Swiss Canton of Zurich achieves fast, reliable drinking water analysis with Metrohm OMNIS and TitrIC

A Metrohm Case Study

Laboratory of the Swiss Canton of Zurich analyzes 30 to 100 water samples a day with Metrohm

The Laboratory of the Swiss Canton of Zurich, responsible for monitoring the drinking water quality for the greater Zurich area, needed to increase the efficiency of its daily analysis of 30 to 100 water samples. They partnered with Metrohm to automate their processes and handle multi-parameter analysis more effectively.

Metrohm implemented its OMNIS Sample Robot to automate pH measurements and the TitrIC system to combine titration and ion chromatography. This solution allowed the laboratory to measure 20 different parameters in a single, unattended run. The automation freed up two hours of a lab technician's time each day, significantly increasing the lab's efficiency and throughput while ensuring fast, reliable, and reproducible results.
