OP Financial Group - Customer Case Study

OP Financial Group is a large Finnish cooperative financial services group (12,500 employees, €134bn balance sheet) active in banking, insurance and wealth management. Its Group Internal Audit faced the challenge of professionalizing and standardizing audit practices across a complex three-lines-of-defense environment—creating sustainable, repeatable IA processes, combined planning and assurance, and improving efficiency, effectiveness and stakeholder focus across 35 auditors and some 120 engagements.

OP deployed MetricStream’s GRC platform for Internal Audit and Issues Management with a dedicated implementation team and strong sponsorship, using a phased, change-focused rollout from contract sign-off (Sep 2016) to production (Jun 2017). The initiative delivered more flexible resource planning, standardized risk–control–test libraries, better visibility into schedules and workflows, a full audit trail and improved audit-issue management, giving senior management clearer insight and assurance (with formal KPIs to be confirmed).
