Leveraging Technology To Rationalize And Streamline Compliance Efforts

One of the world’s largest electronic stock markets, the Institution both regulates listed companies and is itself a publicly listed company, requiring rigorous governance, risk and compliance (GRC) processes across a federated organization. Rapid growth and acquisitions exposed limitations in its legacy compliance system—redundant controls, no document-change tracking, separate issue tracking, lack of role-based views and no operational testing—creating high overhead for SOX and other regulatory requirements.

After evaluating more than a dozen vendors, the Institution implemented MetricStream’s GRC platform and ComplianceOnline services to replace its legacy system. MetricStream delivered integrated document management, automated issue and testing workflows, role-based views (including an external auditor portal), and PeopleSoft integration, enabling the Institution to rationalize controls from 1,400 to about 500, streamline change management, reduce staff time on compliance tasks, improve visibility and lower the risk of non‑compliance.
