Mixbook Achieves High Level of Confidence in AWS Monitoring

Mixbook, a SaaS and print company based in Redwood City, California, needed a better way to monitor its rapidly changing AWS environment. As its EC2, S3, RDS, and Docker-based infrastructure scaled up and down sharply during peak demand, the team found CloudWatch too manual and error-prone for reliably tracking every resource. Mixbook turned to Metricly for AWS cost and monitoring to improve visibility and reduce the risk of overlooked alerts.

With Metricly, Mixbook automated monitoring setup using machine learning and out-of-the-box rules that learn metric behavior as new AWS resources are added. The result was a “high level of confidence” that no service was being overlooked, along with faster onboarding of new AWS services like Fargate. Mixbook also plans to use Metricly’s cost-management features for day-over-day and longer-term cloud spend analysis.
