MetricFire helped solve the team’s cost concern by removing the application ID from incoming Spark metric names, preventing duplicate time series and keeping metric counts under control without any code changes. With MetricFire’s Hosted Graphite, Nielsen gained deeper visibility into infrastructure and application behavior, relied on Slack alerts to catch issues early, and used dashboards and metric treemaps to track traffic and cost drivers with confidence and predictable billing.
