UK Government supports 2.2 million people with Methods

The UK Government faced the challenge of rapidly supporting millions of clinically extremely vulnerable people shielding at home during the COVID-19 pandemic. Their initial service incurred significant technical debt, requiring further development to be maintained throughout lockdown. Methods was brought in to support this effort.

Methods implemented an agile solution, integrating with GOV.UK Notify and fostering a collaborative 'One Team' ethos while working remotely. The resulting scalable and flexible service seamlessly replaced the old system, enabling the delivery of over 4.7 million essential supplies to more than half a million people. The project won a Civil Service Award for its unprecedented collaboration across government departments.
