The Environment Agency faced the challenge of establishing a new internal transformation team and needed a clear, evidence-based understanding of its change delivery maturity to ensure it was set up for success. To gain an objective perspective, the agency partnered with vendor Methods to conduct a bespoke maturity assessment based on P3M3 and change delivery best practices.

Methods collaborated closely with the client to design and implement a flexible review, which included interviewing 48 individuals, surveying change receivers, and analyzing data to identify key themes. The result was a prioritized set of practical actions and a maturity model, which provided the Environment Agency with a foundational roadmap to improve its change delivery capability and support its future transformation ambitions.
