DVLA goes live in December 2019 with Methods to deliver real-time Azure data

The DVLA faced the challenge of modernizing and migrating its legacy systems, including mainframes and bespoke applications, to a modern cloud-based platform. Their key drivers were ensuring timely data access, consistent reporting, and removing redundant data sources, which led them to seek a real-time strategic data platform. To address this, they partnered with vendor Methods and utilized their Methods Analytics service.

Methods worked alongside the DVLA's existing MiBI team to collaboratively architect and engineer a cloud-hosted platform on Azure. The solution went live in December 2019, processing data from vehicle tachometers. This represented a significant shift to real-time event-based processing, enabling faster data visibility and higher reporting accuracy. Methods successfully delivered a platform that is now being evaluated for onboarding further systems in the future.
