Birmingham City Council launches a quarterly digital strategy with Methods

Birmingham City Council needed to develop a new digital strategy to replace its 2016 version and support its digital transformation ambitions. The council engaged Methods to help design a concise, engaging, and measurable strategy that would tackle pain points for both staff and citizens while embedding digital into every aspect of governance.

Methods conducted extensive user research and used a human-centered design approach to collaboratively craft a comprehensive digital strategy. The solution included an adaptable implementation plan and the strategy remains a live document that is iterated on quarterly. The project was a learning experience that upskilled council staff in agile delivery and new design concepts, empowering them to adopt digital ways of working and setting up the council for future success.
