Sequence - Customer Case Study

Sequence, a personal finance platform, was faced with the challenge of money fragmentation, where the average American has money in 15 different places. This made it very difficult for users to optimize their finances, especially in a high-interest rate environment. Existing personal finance managers fell short of enabling seamless money movement. Sequence partnered with Method, using its Connect, Data, and Pay products, to solve this gap and build a powerful financial router.

Method provided the underlying technology for user onboarding, real-time balance data, and payment execution. This allowed Sequence to offer users a platform where they could set smart, conditional rules to automate their money movement. The solution had a significant measurable impact: within 60 days, users doubled their monthly account transfers. Since its launch, Sequence connected over 13,000 accounts with a cumulative debt balance of over $50 million, and users made an average of 24 transactions per month.
