The customer, EuRoC (European Rocketry Challenge), faced the challenge of ensuring the safety of its high-powered student rocket launches, where even minor wind shifts could drastically alter a rocket's path and risk recovery. To manage this, EuRoC partnered with the vendor Meteomatics to utilize its high-resolution weather data within the RocketPy simulation platform for precise trajectory predictions.

The solution implemented by Meteomatics involved providing real-time, high-resolution weather data feeds for key variables like wind and temperature up to 11 km altitude. This data was integrated directly into RocketPy's simulations, enabling accurate modeling of flight paths and landing zones. The results included improved launch safety and a successful rocket recovery after a mid-flight failure, demonstrating the tangible impact of the vendor Meteomatics' precise weather data.
