ZIP Telecom Uses Metaswitch Perimeta to Replace Existing SBCs, Strengthen Network

ZIP Telecom, a telecommunications infrastructure provider for voice service partners, needed a stronger, more scalable session border controller platform to support its growing network. After using multiple SBC vendors, ZIP Telecom chose Metaswitch Perimeta to replace its existing SBCs and better handle customer border, peer border, and SIP compatibility needs.

With Metaswitch Perimeta, ZIP Telecom gained more hands-on support, network-wide licensing, better cost per throughput, and a product vision aligned with its move toward virtualization and cloud-based communications. The company currently runs four Perimeta SBCs and is installing four more, handles 8,000 concurrent calls and tens of millions of calls per day, and expects to scale to at least 50,000 concurrent calls over the next two to three years.
