SFR - Customer Case Study

SFR, a major French telecom provider, needed a low-cost replacement for its legacy corporate VPN that could add new IP features while still supporting existing GSM users. The company wanted a productised approach to avoid expensive custom development and downstream support costs, while also minimizing disruption for users moving from the old service. Metaswitch provided the IP VPN solution, deployed on a Convergent Service Layer.

Metaswitch delivered a preintegrated, productised IP VPN application that managed signaling between IP and GSM users without requiring changes to the application itself. The result was a faster service launch, quicker time to market for future products, and lower operating costs through a shared platform. SFR was able to offer the new IP VPN to all users and retire its legacy VPN earlier, with no need for customer-specific network integration.
