ENA Uses Metaswitch Perimeta to Add Network Smarts for K-12 Schools in U.S.

ENA (Education Networks of America) is a leading IaaS provider for K-12 schools and libraries, serving more than 5,000 sites across the U.S. As ENA’s network and customer base grew, it needed a more scalable and reliable next-generation session border controller to replace its existing SBC platform and better support high-volume voice services, emergency readiness, and future expansion. After testing alternatives, ENA selected Metaswitch and its Perimeta solution.

Metaswitch implemented Perimeta as the common platform for ENA’s business communications and network interconnect needs, supporting ENA’s SmartVoice cloud VoIP service and distributed network architecture. The result was a highly scalable, secure, and easier-to-manage platform with stronger handling of registration storms, improved failover resilience, simpler configuration, and faster troubleshooting through packet captures and integrated diagnostics. ENA said the move delivered far greater value for the spend, improved support responsiveness, and helped maintain its 99% customer satisfaction rate and 97% customer recommendation and retention metrics.
