Bouygues Telecom - Customer Case Study

Bouygues Telecom, France’s third-largest mobile operator and a major fixed-line provider, wanted to cut the cost and complexity of launching new convergent SIP and IN services while improving service agility. Its siloed service layer made it difficult to reuse assets across mobile SS7 IN and all-IP fixed IMS networks, and it could not easily expose network capabilities to third-party developers. Bouygues Telecom used the Metaswitch service broker solution, including Metaswitch Rhino, to address these challenges.

Metaswitch implemented a solution that decoupled services from the underlying network technologies, creating a single point for delivering third-party solutions and enabling services to be shared across domains without costly trigger chaining. The results were significant: Bouygues Telecom reported a 50% reduction in time to market for new convergent services, 50% CapEx and OpEx savings for service development, and an estimated 100% ROI within 9 to 12 months. The company also gained stronger service innovation by leveraging Metaswitch’s developer community.
