Census, a Data Activation platform, sought to build trust in its data and move faster while ensuring the accuracy of the information powering its business applications. As the first data hire, Head of Data Julie Beynon needed a way to confidently monitor data quality across their stack, which includes Snowflake and dbt, to prevent issues from impacting downstream stakeholders.

By implementing Metaplane, the data observability platform, Census gained comprehensive monitoring. Metaplane provided alerts for schema changes and anomalous data, column-level lineage for faster analysis, and spend analysis to optimize Snowflake costs. The solution allowed Julie's team to intercept bad data before it reached business applications, prioritize issue resolution using the Census integration, and prevent problems with Data CI/CD, ultimately building greater trust and enabling the team to operate more confidently and efficiently.
