STX Europe, an international shipbuilding group headquartered in Oslo with 18 shipyards and roughly 20,000 employees, needed to ensure fast, reliable access to critical shipbuilding documents across high‑latency, low‑bandwidth locations while preserving local operational autonomy. To address slow downloads, version drift and user frustration with SharePoint, STX Europe selected Metalogix Software’s Replicator for SharePoint as part of its SharePoint strategy.

Metalogix Software implemented Replicator for SharePoint to build a Wide Area SharePoint Environment with bi‑directional replication from the main Norwegian SharePoint to local servers in Vietnam, Romania and Brazil (three replication instances), preserving site look-and-feel and metadata. The solution enables secure mobile upload/download of large CAD files, provides real‑time asynchronous replication, and leverages RDC differencing to cut bandwidth use dramatically (about 90%–98% savings on AutoCAD diffs), ensuring synchronized versions across Engineering, IT and Finance and reducing the risk of working from outdated revisions.
