SeaBird Exploration - Customer Case Study

SeaBird Exploration, a global marine acquisition provider with 500 employees across offices and offshore vessels, needed a reliable way to keep SharePoint content synchronized for HSSEQ compliance and daily operations. Facing slow, costly satellite and internet links and requiring bi-directional, on-the-fly replication between ship and shore, SeaBird chose Metalogix Software and its Metalogix Replicator for SharePoint to address these challenges.

Metalogix Software deployed Replicator for SharePoint across SeaBird’s offices (Oct 2005) and ships (Jan 2006), creating virtually identical, geo-dispersed SharePoint instances that synchronize changes rather than whole files. The solution significantly reduced satellite bandwidth charges, kept servers updated in minutes instead of hours, and reliably resumed replication after outages; SeaBird is now expanding replication to improve performance for its Dubai operations.
