Now Business Intelligence (NBI) was engaged to help a large federal systems integrator consolidate and migrate two massive, disparate collaboration environments: more than 4TB of SharePoint 2010 content and a complex EMC eRoom environment that totaled as much as 40TB, all into SharePoint 2013 (with a longer-term move to Office 365). To tackle messy, decade-old content and demanding automation needs, NBI evaluated several vendors and selected Metalogix Software’s Content Matrix for its ease of use, transformer capabilities and superior migration performance.

Using Metalogix Software’s Content Matrix, NBI migrated the 4TB SharePoint estate to SharePoint 2013 and completed the first 5TB phase of the eRoom transformation by developing custom transformers and working closely with Metalogix on product enhancements. The project delivered measurable gains — migration speeds up to about 1.5 GB/hour and more than a 10x acceleration versus alternatives — simplified the consolidation process, enabled a repeatable SharePoint migration practice at NBI, and set the stage for the remaining 35TB eRoom migration.
