Norwegian Cruise Line needed to consolidate corporate content and deploy a dynamic intranet to ships worldwide while meeting ISM compliance and working around highly constrained satellite bandwidth. The company implemented Microsoft SharePoint as the intranet foundation and brought in Metalogix Software’s Metalogix Replicator for SharePoint to address replication, metadata, versioning and deployment challenges for ship-to-shore content delivery.

Metalogix Software implemented a phased replication solution that used one-way, ship-bound replication with byte‑level differencing and incremental/resumable transfers to minimize satellite traffic and handle interrupted connections. The result was a centralized, searchable intranet and SEMS deployment across the fleet, faster, controlled updates to ships, improved metadata/versioning handling, and reduced impact on limited satellite bandwidth.
