Heerema Marine Contractor, a global offshore oil and gas marine contractor headquartered in Leiden, faced unreliable, high‑latency satellite links and intermittent connectivity between its central SharePoint and offshore vessels, which prevented guaranteed access to critical project information. To address this, Heerema deployed Metalogix Software’s Metalogix Replicator for SharePoint to provide local access and bi‑directional synchronization across its headquarters, three main vessels and a fabrication yard.

Metalogix Software implemented a secure “store-and-forward” replication solution that synchronizes content and permissions across local SharePoint sites so crews can work offline and have changes replicated when connectivity allows. The deployment improved SharePoint efficiency and collaboration, reduced reliance on email, supported supply‑chain and project workflows across all three vessels and the Leiden office, and proved indispensable during construction of a fourth vessel operating on severely limited bandwidth.
