Flexible Data Migration on to a New SharePoint-Environment Despite Numerous Individual Solutions

Hewlett Packard Enterprise’s Banking Service Center in Bern needed to move an on‑premises SharePoint 2007 environment—including roughly 40 specially developed, partially complex SharePoint solutions—to SharePoint 2013 to replace outdated hardware, meet tightened security requirements and split services across three network zones. HPE selected Metalogix Software to provide a flexible, tolerant migration approach that could handle the bespoke solutions and gaps in developer knowledge while preserving security controls.

Metalogix Software implemented Metalogix Content Matrix for the data migration and reorganization and Metalogix ControlPoint for permission checks and security governance. Using these tools HPE migrated its entire SharePoint content (including metadata and complex authorizations) directly to SharePoint 2013, executed a phased parallel migration with minimal user disruption, consolidated content types and site templates for a simpler structure, and relied on Metalogix Software’s support and reporting to validate access, speed issue resolution and maintain auditability.
