Empact IT, a Houston-based SharePoint specialist, was tasked with migrating a financial services client's three-site SharePoint environment from WSS 3.0 to SharePoint 2013 without impacting about 800 users. The project was complicated by numerous custom lists, forms, complex workflows, third‑party integrations, a hosting move and a new server environment. To meet the timeline and preserve customizations, Empact IT selected Metalogix Software’s Metalogix Migration Solutions.

Using Metalogix Software’s Metalogix Migration Solutions, Empact IT automated and validated the migration (starting with a low‑impact test site) and then migrated the rest, preserving content, permissions and metadata. The vendor-enabled solution moved more than 600 sites/subsites across three intranet instances with zero user disruption, avoided months of custom development and thousands of dollars in costs, and enabled a single switchover to SharePoint 2013.
