The Bureau of Public Affairs - Department of State faced uncontrolled PST growth, strict security benchmarks, and a requirement to avoid performance-draining journaling while keeping archiving transparent to end users. To meet these challenges the Bureau evaluated and selected Metalogix Software’s archiving solution, Metalogix Archive Manager Exchange Edition, which promised secure, scalable archiving without relying on Exchange journaling.

Metalogix Software implemented Metalogix Archive Manager Exchange Edition to gather and import all PSTs, perform direct archiving as messages arrive, and integrate archiving into the Bureau’s disaster recovery plan. The result: all excess PSTs were eliminated, mailbox size limits removed yet average mailbox size remained just 100 MB, the archive is fully indexed and searchable, nothing was installed on the Exchange servers, and archiving is transparent to users — delivering measurable storage and performance improvements while maintaining security and operational flexibility.
