Antarctica New Zealand, the Crown Entity that manages Scott Base and the country's Antarctic research activities, faced the challenge of maintaining secure, continuous communication and information replication between its Christchurch headquarters and the remote Scott Base over a low-bandwidth (64/256K), high-latency (300ms) satellite link and across firewalls. To address this, they adopted Metalogix Software’s Metalogix Replicator for SharePoint as their replication and synchronization solution.

Metalogix Software deployed Metalogix Replicator for SharePoint to selectively synchronize sites, lists and document libraries, replicate in-progress workflow state, and use Remote Differential Compression so only document changes are transmitted. The result is up-to-date, securely replicated research data and maintained operational continuity despite limited bandwidth and high latency, with reduced network load and granular control over what content is shared.
