Harel Insurance Investments & Financial Services Ltd., Israel’s largest insurance and financial services provider, needed a trusted Backup-as-a-Service to protect rapidly growing cloud workloads after moving parts of its infrastructure to Microsoft Azure and Office 365. Facing strict regulatory requirements and the need to guarantee 100% recoverability without expanding staff, Harel sought a cloud-delivered solution and selected Metallic (built on Commvault technology) to ensure secure, fast restores and compliance.

Harel deployed Metallic Office 365 Backup and Metallic Cloud Storage Service alongside its existing Commvault on‑premises protection. Metallic protected roughly 1,000 mailboxes within weeks (with plans to scale to over 5,000), helped drive on‑premises storage to the cloud, cut significant time spent managing backup infrastructure, and eliminated the need to hire at least two additional staff—delivering the solution for less than the cost of hiring resources while improving security, recoverability, and operational agility.
