MetaDocs worked with a leading medical and financial company that needed a better way to manage GDPR compliance for emails and documents containing sensitive personal data such as medical, payroll, and CV information. The company faced the challenge of tracking who accessed, forwarded, or printed sensitive messages, enforcing retention policies, and supporting the right-to-be-forgotten while staying compliant across large-scale operations.

MetaDocs implemented the Astris GDPR module, using Microsoft Outlook, Exchange Server, Office 365, and Astris TeamWare Suite to tag sensitive emails as soon as they are received, monitor all activity, and apply retention and deletion policies. The solution provided two-step deletion, DPO review before final purge, and full auditability through retained database entries, helping the customer improve GDPR compliance and reduce errors, though no specific numerical impact was reported.
