The Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA) in Northern Ireland needed to improve employee engagement with cyber security awareness training. Traditional 45-minute PowerPoint modules were only achieving 49% participation, making it harder for DAERA to strengthen its cyber resilience and progress toward ISO27001 certification. MetaCompliance provided a more modern approach to security awareness training and incident reporting.

MetaCompliance introduced bite-sized 2–3 minute eLearning videos, creating an “anytime, anywhere” learning model that was easier for employees to complete and retain. The solution also integrated incident reporting with DAERA’s existing “Big Red Button” process. As a result, engagement rose from 49% to 90% within weeks, 3,900 employees adopted the new format, incident reporting became faster, and DAERA made improved progress toward ISO27001 certification.
