N26 promotes data literacy in Europe's first mobile bank with Metabase

N26, Europe’s first mobile bank with more than 200,000 customers, needed a simple, company-wide analytics solution that would be easy to deploy, support self-service by non-technical teams, and meet strict reporting and compliance requirements. After trying other tools, N26 selected Metabase for its ease of self-hosting, straightforward SQL interface, and licensing that allowed broad internal use.

Metabase was up on AWS in five minutes and connected first to a read replica and later to a dedicated analytics warehouse (including Snowplow events and third‑party data). Metabase’s SQL editor, training workflow and access controls let Product, Design, Marketing, Ops and others run their own analyses, surface issues (for example a two‑day dip in credit‑card re-orders that revealed a deployment bug and was quickly fixed), and reduce compliance uncertainty and costs — driving faster, self‑service reporting and company‑wide data literacy at N26.
