Streamlining Customer Communications Management With Messagepoint

Alliance Data, a major provider of marketing, loyalty and credit solutions managing 100+ million consumer relationships, faced a regulatory-driven deadline to redesign statements for more than 130 client brands to meet the Credit CARD Act of 2009 by February 2010. The project was complicated by extensive brand- and message-level variation, a legacy solution, an HP Exstream deployment that lacked business-user messaging controls, and insufficient in-house HP Exstream programming resources — so Alliance Data selected Messagepoint for its statement design, HP Exstream expertise and the Messagepoint platform.

Messagepoint used its Integrated Approach to capture requirements, design statements, program HP Exstream and configure the Messagepoint Customer Messaging Management platform, enabling variation management and a centralized UI for non-technical users. In under a year Messagepoint rolled out redesigned statements to all 130 clients, achieved Credit CARD Act compliance (avoiding fines), and delivered measurable benefits: faster onboarding, reduced IT involvement, lower printing and statement-run costs, improved time-to-market and a more appealing customer experience.
