Using Sinch MessageMedia’s Mercury SMS, SHCOE implemented a mix of automated and personal SMS outreach for academic coaching and student support. Coaches can now automate routine messages like transcript requests and send timely one-to-one texts when students miss assignments or need encouragement, helping them manage caseloads of up to 300 students. The results have been strong: students feel more valued and motivated, personal texting makes up as much as 80% of communication, and coaches report that quick SMS responses help students feel like a top priority.
