Hungarian University of Fine Arts accelerates 3D asset creation from days to hours with Meshy

The Hungarian University of Fine Arts (HUFA), a historic art academy, sought to bridge its classical fine art heritage with modern digital innovation. Their challenge was finding a tool that could fluidly connect traditional artistic disciplines with new technologies like 3D generation, accelerating asset creation without sacrificing creative expression. They turned to the vendor Meshy and its Image-to-3D feature.

Meshy was integrated across multiple departments. Visual design students used it to transform 2D concepts into 3D models for game engines, while painting students used it to assemble and render 3D scenes as precise references for traditional artwork. This solution dramatically improved efficiency, reducing processes from days to hours, which freed students for more creative experimentation. Meshy also fostered unique cross-disciplinary collaboration, leading to a more open, research-driven environment and plans for use in future animated film projects.
