August Steinmeyer - Customer Case Study

The customer, August Steinmeyer GmbH & Co. KG, a manufacturer of high-precision ball screws, needed to perform advanced simulations for critical, high-load applications that other calculation methods could not accurately provide. They turned to vendor Meshparts and its software for ball screw analysis.

Using the Meshparts software, Steinmeyer was able to perform Finite Element Method (FEM) simulations that were in very good agreement with practical experience. This solution allowed for exact predictions of ball screw characteristics from a virtual 3D model and enabled optimization strategies with a strong cost-benefit ratio. The primary results were an increased service life for heavily loaded ball screws and a better understanding of the complex effects within them.
