Rochester Institute of Technology unifies 32 classrooms and a 20ft x 23ft LED atrium with Mersive

Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) sought to create a more inclusive and collaborative learning environment in its new Student Hall for Exploration and Development (SHED). A key challenge was providing a substantial technology upgrade to better serve its large community of hearing-impaired students and to enable easy wireless content sharing for all users. To address this, RIT partnered with Mersive and standardized on its Solstice platform for collaboration.

Mersive's Solstice Pods were deployed to make wireless sharing from any device effortless for students, faculty, and visitors. The integrated solution, which also included enhanced hearing loop technology for sign language interpreters on Zoom, resulted in a more inclusive and enjoyable environment that empowers all students to learn and collaborate effectively. The vendor, Mersive, helped RIT achieve its goal of uniting technology, art, and design under one roof to stimulate innovation.
