The Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development needed to track outcomes and provide job access for dislocated workers enrolled in IT training programs run by the Tennessee Urban League. They partnered with the vendor Merit to address this challenge using Merit's digital platform for verified credentials.

Merit’s solution provided the state with a platform to track key performance metrics, participant outcomes, and learning results that were not captured in its existing system. By issuing digital "merits" to workers as they earned certifications, Merit enabled the newly certified individuals to be directly connected with employers offering in-demand jobs, facilitating a path from unemployment to a new career.
