United Way of Greater Cleveland, a Cleveland-based service bureau providing fee-based accounting services to Ohio not-for-profits, needed to replace a Y2K-risk mainframe accounting system with something flexible, affordable, easy to use, and strong in reporting. Merit Solutions implemented Microsoft Dynamics to modernize accounting operations and support remote access, faster processing, and better reporting. The results included easier access to data, seamless transaction processing, faster year-end processing, reduced audit time, and higher productivity; year-end work dropped from two employees to one, and the system was reliable enough to handle more than 12,000 checks for a grant distribution.
