Johnson Controls’ Building Efficiency Group — part of a global company with 130,000 employees and more than a million customers — needed a way to serve external technicians, dealers and distributors who were not supported by its internal L&D system. Enrollment for hundreds of instructor‑led classes was manual (phone‑based), and the business required a robust enterprise LMS with ecommerce, multilingual support, domain separation and the ability to segment and market courses to specific audiences.

Johnson Controls implemented Meridian Global LMS with ecommerce and later upgraded it, adding SSO, domain separation and enhanced language and marketing features. The system automated registration, payment, scheduling and accreditation tracking, now managing dozens of classroom courses across the U.S. and Canada, driving significant revenue, enabling targeted marketing by location and course history, and supporting expanded training for joint‑venture groups such as Hitachi.
