Technicolor UPS its Game with a Multimodal TMS

Technicolor, a 103-year-old media innovator, relies on its 3PL arm, Technicolor Global Logistics, to handle massive fulfillment and distribution for studios, game publishers, and retailers. With some 9 million square feet of distribution capacity and typical order volumes of 18,000/hr (peaking at 50,000/hr, about 75% parcel), TGL faced the twin challenges of processing high-volume parcel shipments in compressed time windows and guaranteeing simultaneous delivery to more than 9,000 retail locations for product launches.

Technicolor implemented MercuryGate’s multimodal TMS—whose native parcel module and Mojo optimization allow seamless rating, routing, and mode comparison on one platform. The system lets TGL process up to 50,000 shipments an hour, identify profitable consolidation and modal shifts, meet promised delivery dates, and standardize transportation management across core and non-core businesses for greater agility and cost-effectiveness.
