Rusta, a Swedish retail chain with 86 department stores, needed a new performance management solution after rapid growth made its old setup too slow, manual, and inconsistent. Store managers lacked access to detailed, up-to-date information and often had to rely on the finance team for answers. Mercur was brought in to provide a user-friendly solution for budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and analysis, with the Mercur Business Control product at the center.

Mercur implemented the new system quickly, with the first reports available within a few months and full rollout across the organization within a year for 155 users. Integrated with IFS ERP, BI systems, and Medius, the solution gave Rusta dynamic reports, scorecards, and better control over sales, costs, and forecasts. The result was significantly less manual work, including purchase reports that once took two days and ranking reports that took three hours now available as standard reports, along with faster reporting, clearer ownership, and better follow-up against budget.
