Silver Diner Takes Next Step in Payment Security Using Merchant Link’s Point-to-Point Encryption Solution

Silver Diner, a family-friendly restaurant chain with 15 locations in Maryland, Virginia, and New Jersey, wanted to strengthen payment security while keeping operations efficient and customer payment data safe. As a longtime Merchant Link customer already using its cloud-based payment gateway and tokenization product, TransactionVault®, Silver Diner turned to Merchant Link for a cost-effective point-to-point encryption solution that would integrate with its existing restaurant system.

Merchant Link implemented TransactionShield® with Silver Diner’s POS environment, using MagTek IPAD® devices to encrypt card data at the swipe and decrypt it only in Merchant Link’s cloud-based payment gateway. The result was a seamless rollout with no extra steps for operators, significant reductions in PCI scope and costs, and a scalable security platform now being tested at Metro Diner Café for future deployment across all locations.
