Kuehne + Nagel, a global logistics provider, faced time-consuming manual processes and error-prone warehouse workflows — from Excel-based vendor-owned inventory reconciliations to a paper-and-sticker system that led to misrouted parcels. Yasmijn Joosten, a supply-chain professional with no formal development background, set out to streamline these operations using Mendix low-code development.

She built a Mendix app that calculates daily inventory deltas and automatically updates the warehouse management system, and a wrist‑tablet scanning app that guides workers through parcel and pallet handling with barcode checks. The solutions automated tedious tasks (saving roughly two hours of manual work per day), cut routing errors, improved accuracy and worker satisfaction, and were achievable quickly thanks to Mendix’s intuitive tooling and targeted performance training.
