Tablet Application for NGO War Child Streamlines Field Reporting for Project Officers in Uganda

War Child, an NGO helping children and young people recover from decades of conflict in Uganda, struggled with manual paper and Excel-based monitoring that was time-consuming, error-prone and often lost in remote field conditions—undermining program evaluation and donor reporting while diverting project officers from frontline work.

Mansystems (with social enterprise Flock of Birds) used the Mendix platform to build the Indicator Process Card (IPC) tablet app, enabling intuitive, on-site data entry and centralized monitoring. The app accelerated and improved data quality, empowered project officers to report daily, reduced administrative overhead, strengthened donor-ready impact tracking, and is being prepared for wider rollout to other NGOs.
