Spring Global Mail, a leading international mail broker headquartered in the Netherlands with 15 offices worldwide, needed to replace a 15-year-old, hosted mainframe application that tracked thousands of in‑transit packages across up to 15 countries. The company wanted a smarter, rule-driven system with contemporary interfaces and architectures to reduce manual work and operational risk while avoiding a lengthy requirements cycle.
Working with Mendix partner Cape Groep, Spring Global Mail rebuilt its tracking system using the Mendix App Platform and Scrum, delivering MailTrack 2.0 in nine three-week sprints and a complementary IMC cost-allocation app in seven sprints, both integrated with the central financial system. The result is a modern, portal-based solution that eliminated much Excel-based manual work, lowered operating costs, improved error control and flexibility, and provides a platform for future KPI and operational apps.
