Schaeffler, a global automotive and industrial supplier, needed a faster way to deliver custom software and digitize shop floor and employee processes. Traditional development could not keep up with demand, so some teams resorted to unmanaged tools like Excel VBA and Python. Schaeffler adopted the Mendix low-code platform to close this gap and support more flexible, secure application delivery.

Using Mendix, Schaeffler built a low-code Center of Excellence, trained hundreds of contributors, and delivered 30+ applications in two years. The results included replacing paper and Excel-based workflows with web and mobile apps, improving data quality and transparency, and speeding changes to production in less than a day. Schaeffler also grew an internal Mendix community to over 500 users, with hackathons and reusable templates helping scale innovation across the company.
