Mercury Systems’ Digital Thread Centralizes Manufacturing Systems Across the Product Lifecycle

Mercury Systems, a 2,300-employee aerospace and defense manufacturer, needed a secure way to connect data across business and engineering systems and create a true digital thread across the product lifecycle. In 2020, Mercury Systems adopted the Mendix low-code platform to support this business vision while meeting strict requirements for security, cloud-native deployment, and compatibility with systems of record.

With Mendix, Mercury Systems built a phased low-code program that now includes 20+ applications, a containerized microservices architecture, DevSecOps practices, and a centralized Visualization Portal. This gave engineers a single view of product data from tools like Cadence and PLM systems, improved transparency for tracking approvals and contract chains, and helped keep product delivery on track; Mendix also enabled 3D visualization and markup capabilities, extending innovation across manufacturing workflows.
