Kwik-fit Drives Efficiency During Peak Automotive Maintenance Season

Kwik Fit, a leading automotive service provider with more than 570 centers in the UK and operations across Western Europe, faced severe seasonal spikes as customers changed over 1,000 sets of tires each year. Prior to the new system the company needed to hire six to eight extra employees for about ten weeks to handle demand, and required a solution that would integrate with fleet companies and be usable across more than 180 Kwik Fit centers plus headquarters.

Working with Mendix, the team delivered an automated authorization and invoicing system—garage staff submit service authorization requests to fleet companies via web services, approvals are returned in real time, and requests are matched with invoices the next day. The Mendix team worked on site two days per week to deploy the solution; Kwik Fit now manages peak seasons without extra hires or overtime, rolled the system out smoothly across hundreds of centers, and strengthened its internal IT capabilities.
