KPN, a leading telecom provider in the Netherlands, needed a new Radio Access Network inventory administration application to support the rollout of 4G. Modifying its large legacy 2G/3G system was judged too slow, risky and expensive, threatening delayed rollouts, higher maintenance and data-quality issues.

By partnering with Tech Mahindra and using the Mendix low-code platform, KPN built a single integrated app for 2G/3G/4G quickly and cost‑effectively. The project reduced time to market by about 70% (updates now take under 2 months versus 6–8 months), enabled service rollouts 4–6 months earlier, cost less than projected changes to the old system, and is expected to cut future change costs by 30–40%.
