Saga Healthcare faced a fragmented, 20-year-old IT setup that relied on legacy insurance software, spreadsheets and manual processes to manage prescriptions, appointments and billing. Systems Consultant Kofi Ghartey-Tagoe joined as a developer and confronted slow, error-prone workflows—invoice generation could take four to seven days, prescription management was handled by phone and email, and there was no client-facing channel to drive new business.

Using Mendix, Kofi built a finance system that automates appointments, invoicing, transaction ledgers and pricing logic, and a client-facing webshop for subscriptions. The finance app shipped in about two to three months and cut invoicing time to one day, reduced manual errors, delivered measurable ROI, and opened a new customer acquisition channel through the webshop while enabling much faster, end-to-end development.
